Legislated Leave of Absence (LOA) administration

Understanding and staying current about legislated ESA Leaves of Absence can be daunting, especially if you have employees residing in various Canadian provinces.

While most are maternity, parental, or pregnancy leaves, employees may also take leaves for many other reasons, including family emergencies, compassionate care, and, more recently, infectious disease.

Payroll services for short-term disability payments

Through the Return to Health® program, we can assist your Human Resources team by managing payments for employees on short-term disability.

We provide a wide range of services, including:

  • Coordination of direct deposit payments to employees receiving short-term disability, aligned with your internal payroll schedule to minimize disruption
  • Management of all withholding taxes and remittance to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for:
    • Income tax
    • Canada Pension Plan (CPP/QPP)
    • Employment Insurance (EI/QPIP)
  • T4 administration, as well as Employer Health Tax (EHT) summaries and reports for remittance to the provincial Ministry of Finance upon request
  • Facilitation of additional CPP/QPP and EI/QPIP employer contribution amounts payable to the CRA, invoiced monthly
