Earth Day - April 22, 2014
Celebrated every year on April 22, Earth Day is the largest environmental event in the world. More than six million Canadians-including nearly every school-aged child-participate in an Earth Day activity in their communities.
In anticipation of this year’s Earth Day, we would like to share some ideas and reminders of what you can do to help make Earth Day a success.
There are many opportunities that you and your family can take advantage of to help with our environment. Some small and easy tips to get you started include:
- Turning off your computers at night
- Hanging your clothes to dry, instead of using the dryer
- Recycling glassware
- Washing in cold or warm water will save more energy than using the hot water
