Celebrate National Employee Benefits Day on April 4, 2016
Employee Benefits Day was created by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and is a day to recognize benefits professionals and provide an opportunity for better education for employers and employees about benefit topics.
This year, National Employee Benefits Day will be celebrated on April 4, 2016.
We encourage you to use the day to evaluate your employee benefit offerings and to take time to educate your employees on the valuable benefits you offer.
As part of this year’s celebration, IFEBP is focusing on increasing awareness of the retirement crisis and to help plan sponsors motivate participants to actively engage in their financial wellness. According to a recent International Foundation survey, only 13% of organizations said their employees were very or extremely financially savvy.
Visit the National Employee Benefits Day website for resources to help your workforce increase their financial wellness and learn how financially fit employees benefit your organization.
Cowan can also help you provide your employees with financial literacy education. We believe that if your employees are more confident about their financial decisions, they’re less likely to experience financial stress and will be more productive.
That’s why we decided to sponsor the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) Retirement Literacy website—designed to help Canadians improve their financial literacy and their retirement readiness. In addition, Cowan has created the following series of employee education modules to help organizations promote financial literacy.
- Manage money and your debt wisely
- Plan and save for the future
- Sources of retirement income
- How do registered retirement programs work?
- How do the government programs (including the ORPP) work?
- Benefits of a group savings program
Choose the format(s) that work best for you—group sessions, lunch and learns, newsletters, payroll stuffers, webcasts or web learning.
National Employee Benefits Day is also a time to recognize yourself and your peers for all your hard work and dedication. Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you do.
