Effective January 1, 2020. OHIP coverage for out-of-country services from emergency hospitals, health facilities, and doctors has now been reinstated, retroactive to January 1, 2020. This reverses the 2020 cancellation of coverage highlighted last year.

The reimbursement rates and coverage criteria will be the same as those that existed before the cancellation of the Out-of-Country Travellers program.
