National Strategy for Financial Literacy: Count me in, Canada

Throughout 2014, Jane Rooney, Canada’s appointed Financial Literacy leader met with stakeholders and held consultations across the country trying to develop a national strategy to improve the financial literacy of all Canadians. On June 6, 2015, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada released the “National Strategy for Financial Literacy: Count me in, Canada.”

The main goals of the strategy are to empower Canadians to:

  • Manage money and debt wisely
  • Plan and save for the future
  • Prevent and protect against fraud and financial abuse
